Technical Artist - Real Time and Immersive Experiences
THIS ROLE IS 100 PERCENT ON SITE IN MUNICH. NO REMOTE OR HYBRID OPTION. THIS IS NON NEGOTIABLE. MUST BE AN EU CITIZEN.
Salary up to €46,000, dependent on experience and technical depth
The opportunityWe’re hiring an experienced Technical Artist to join a multidisciplinary team building high quality real time immersive experiences across XR and VR.
This role sits right at the intersection of art and engineering. You’ll be responsible for ensuring audio, visual effects, animation, and assets are implemented cleanly and perform reliably inside Unreal Engine. Your work will directly influence the quality, responsiveness, and emotional impact of interactive experiences used across entertainment, enterprise, and training environments.
You’ll work closely with artists, designers, and developers, acting as a technical bridge that helps ideas survive contact with real time constraints.

- Implementing, optimising, and maintaining audio systems within Unreal Engine
- Integrating spatial audio, sound cues, sound classes, and sound mixes for real time XR and VR use
- Collaborating with designers and engineers to deliver responsive and immersive audio behaviour
- Creating and implementing real time visual effects using Niagara
- Optimising VFX for performance without sacrificing visual quality
- Supporting character and object animation implementation within Unreal Engine
- Bridging animation, rigging, shaders, and in-engine execution
- Acting as a technical interface between artists and programmers
- Optimising assets, shaders, and effects for performance and stability
- Supporting profiling, debugging, and optimisation in Unreal Engine
- Improving tools, workflows, and documentation across art and development pipelines
- Professional experience as a Technical Artist, Technical Animator, or similar role
- Strong hands on experience with Unreal Engine 4 and or 5
- Proven experience implementing audio systems in Unreal Engine
- Strong understanding of real time animation pipelines and constraints
- Confident working with performance optimisation in real time environments
- Comfortable collaborating closely across art, design, and engineering teams
- A structured, solution focused approach to problem solving
- Very strong English communication skills, German is a plus
- Experience working on XR, VR, or real time simulation projects
- Familiarity with audio middleware such as Wwise or FMOD
- Experience with shaders, materials, and Blueprint scripting
