Research And Development Manager

As a R&D Manager, you will drive innovation across multiple categories including Skin and Hair and also manage clinical trials to establish product efficacy. This position requires regular cross-functional interaction with the Marketing, Consumer insights and 3

Ps for Clinical Trial.

Key Responsibilities:

· Develop a thorough understanding of pre-formulations, prototyping, and product development across various formats

· Innovate and conceptualize disruptive ideas within relevant categories, building a vibrant New Product Development (NPD) pipeline based on consumer insights and category challenges

· Document the product development pathway through detailed reports and dossiers.

· Utilize wet and instrumental analysis techniques to characterize and predict product behaviour over time

· Follow and understand protocols/test methods to measure both functional and aesthetic performance

· Manage clinical trials and consumer testing for scientific product claims

· Co-ordinate with 3P agencies for product testing through clinical trials.

· Set up protocols and execute the experiments for claim substantiation.

· Identify product opportunities based on consumer insights and develop rapid product development strategies

· Ensure all formulations meet Regulatory standards

· Lead in pilot plant and plant-level scale-up activities, ensuring smooth transitions from development to production

Who are we looking for

Education:

· Master's or bachelor's degree Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering or related field.

Experience:

· 5-10 years of experience in formulation development and clinical trials preferably in Skin and Hair.

Skills:

· Analytical abilities coupled with an understanding and ability to use statistical tools

· Must possess a sound understanding of product formulations, consumer expectations/insights as well as gaps in delivery of existing formats

· Good understanding of ways of working to execute clinical trials and instrumentation involved and claim substantiation

· Some level of consumer interaction to understand consumer needs
