Research & Development (R&D) Associate

Job Description:

- Responsible for supporting the development, innovation and testing of new nutraceutical formulations and product development activities within the organization, focusing on solid dosage forms such as tablets and capsules. Assist senior researchers and managers in various tasks including data collection, analysis, reporting, and project coordination. Conduct scientific research, assist in the design and execution of experiments and develop new products, processes, or technologies by analyzing data, and preparing reports.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

- Conduct laboratory experiments and research activities as directed by senior R&D staff

Assist in developing and testing new products, formulations, or technologies

Support pre-formulation and stability studies under guidance from senior R&D team members.

Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and prepare detailed reports

Perform trial batch preparation, scale-up batches, and assist in pilot trials.

Maintain accurate documentation of research procedures and findings

Collaborate with other departments (e.g., production, quality, engineering) to support product scale-up and commercialization

Monitor and maintain laboratory equipment, supplies, and safety protocols

Contribute to literature reviews, patent assessments, and competitive analysis

Stay informed on relevant scientific developments, technologies, and industry trends

Support the technology transfer process from lab-scale to production.

Troubleshooting and improvement of existing products or processes

Job Requirements:

- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills for designing and interpreting experiments

Proficiency in laboratory techniques, equipment handling, and scientific methods

High attention to detail and accuracy in conducting and documenting research

Ability to analyze data and prepare clear technical reports and summaries

Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks

Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams

Adaptability to evolving project requirements and fast-paced environments

Familiarity with safety protocols, regulatory standards, and basic data analysis tools

Can coordinate with cross-functional teams such as QA/QC, production, and regulatory affairs

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analysis software

Problem-solving mindset with the ability to adapt to changing project needs

Preferred:

- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a pharmaceutical or nutraceutical R&D lab or related experience

Exposure to tablet compression, capsule filling, and stability testing

Familiarity with industry-specific standards and proficiency in data analysis tools or software

Experience with technical documentation, patent research, or regulatory filings

Ability to manage small projects or lead specific research tasks

Creative problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset

Education:

- Masters / Bachelor's degree in Food Technology or relevant field.

B. Pharma or M. Pharma in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related discipline.
