Job Role Overview
The New Product Development & Packaging Manager will oversee the complete journey of new product creation from concept and formulation to packaging design and market launch. This role demands strong coordination across R&D, production, marketing, and vendor teams, along with an eye for detail, creativity, and a deep understanding of packaging compliance and consumer trends.
Key Responsibilities
The Responsibilities Include
Assisting in the development and trials of new food products from concept to commercialization.
Coordinating with R&D, production, and marketing teams to align product and packaging requirements.
Evaluating packaging materials for safety, durability, and regulatory compliance.
Conducting shelf-life and performance tests under varied conditions.
Ensuring packaging designs meet branding, labelling, and statutory norms including FSSAI and barcode requirements.
Managing vendor relationships for design development, sampling, and cost optimization.
Maintaining documentation for packaging specifications, product trials, and regulatory submissions.
Monitoring market and competitor trends to identify packaging innovations and sustainability opportunities.
Supporting quality and compliance teams during audits and inspections.
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum 3 years of experience in product development or packaging within the FMCG or food manufacturing industry.
Sound understanding of food safety standards, packaging materials, and regulatory norms.
Proficiency in MS Office and documentation practices; familiarity with packaging design software will be an added advantage.
Strong coordination, multitasking, and project management abilities.
A creative and consumer focused mindset, with attention to detail.
