Job Scope
The Head of Legal will oversee all legal affairs of the organization, including agreements, contract management, compliance, audits, data protection & privacy, and information security. The role will be responsible for guiding and advising the Board of Directors, Chairman, CEO, and other senior leadership on legal matters. This position ensures that all business operations adhere to legal and regulatory requirements while safeguarding the company's interest.

Total /Relevant Experience
20-25 years of overall legal experience

Key Responsibilities :

Legal Contract(s) & RFP / Tenders related:
Drafting, vetting, negotiating, and executing agreements (MSA, NDA, DPA, Property, Customer, Vendor, Business Partner, Tech Partner, domestic & cross-border contracts, RFP/Tender documents, etc.).
Contract lifecycle management and maintaining legal records as custodian
Handling legal notices, Stamp Act matters, and supporting legal & secretarial audits
Managing end-to-end contract repository and documentation

Data Protection Affairs:
Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments
Draft and maintain the Legal & Privacy Framework, policies, processes, and procedures
Coordinate with external data privacy experts
Represent the Legal & Data Protection/Privacy function in committees
Manage day-to-day tasks related to legal and data privacy protection
Address and resolve data subject concerns
Support and maintain PIMS controls across the personal data lifecycle

Regulatory, Compliance and Audit Affairs:
Ensure compliance with the Information Technology Act and related Rules
Oversee GDPR compliance and implementation
Ensure compliance with DoT, SEZ, Customs, RBI, and other regulatory bodies
Monitor and track legal & regulatory compliance across departments (HR, GRC, Finance, Facility, IT Operations, etc.)
Represent the Legal Department during internal and external audits.
Undertake applicable training as communicated from time to time.
Understand the organization's expectations towards all management systems the company is certified for
Participation in Risk assessment contributes to achieving departmental & management system objectives
Assist in maintaining PIMS controls throughout personal data lifecycle.

Must-have skill
Legal risk identification, assessments, mitigation, policy drafting.
Strong understanding of Data privacy protection, ROPA, DPIA, and related controls and tasks
In-depth legal and regulatory compliance knowledge
Expertise in contract vetting, drafting, revisions, customer negotiation and Legal repository management,
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to coordinate with internal and external stakeholders effectively
Experience conducting and handling audits
Capability to deliver training and awareness programs

Good-to-Have Skills
Hands-on experience in contract negotiation, drafting, vetting, execution, and management
Ability to understand and adapt to core legal and techno-legal functions
End-to-end experience in contract management (Drafting  review  negotiation  execution  repository)
Awareness of IT, technology law, and current legal updates
Knowledge of data center industry operations

Qualifications Criteria
Must hold an LL.M. degree from a recognized Law Institute in India

CIPP/E – Certified Information Privacy Professional
ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Auditor
ISO/IEC 27701 Lead Implementer
