Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Senior System Engineer with 10+ years of hands-on experience in managing, supporting, and optimizing enterprise IT infrastructure. The candidate should have strong expertise in Linux/Unix systems, virtualization, storage, networking basics, and troubleshooting complex production issues.

Key Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and maintain Linux/Unix and Windows server environments
Manage production, staging, and DR environments
Handle system installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades
Monitor system performance, capacity planning, and tuning
Troubleshoot critical system, application, and performance issues
Manage VMware / Hyper-V virtualization platforms
Administer storage (SAN/NAS), NFS mounts, and file systems
Ensure system security, hardening, and compliance
Implement and manage backup & recovery solutions
Automate routine tasks using Shell / Python scripts
Coordinate with DB, Network, Application, and Security teams
Provide L2/L3 support and participate in on-call rotations
Prepare documentation, SOPs, and RCA reports
Mentor junior engineers and guide best practices
Technical Skills Required
Operating Systems:
Linux (RHEL/CentOS/Oracle Linux), Unix, Windows Server
Virtualization:
VMware ESXi, vCenter, Hyper-V
Storage:
SAN, NAS, NFS, RAID concepts
Networking (Basic to Intermediate):
TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLAN, Firewall concepts
Monitoring Tools:
Nagios, Zabbix (any)
Backup Tools
Scripting:
Shell scripting, Python
Cloud (Good to have):
AWS / Azure (EC2, Storage, IAM basics)
Security:
OS hardening, audit, patching, vulnerability handling
Soft Skills
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Good communication and documentation skills
Ability to work under pressure in 24x7 production environments
Team player with leadership qualities
Certifications
RHCE / RHCSA
Education
Bachelor’s degree in computer science / IT / Engineering or equivalent
