Responsibilities:
Lead and manage software development projects from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Oversee the design, development, and implementation of software solutions, with a focus on Mainframe IMS database management.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define project scope, and establish timelines.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure timely delivery.
Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices in software development and database management.
Engage with stakeholders to communicate project status, gather feedback, and make necessary adjustments to project plans.
Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in Mainframe technologies to drive innovation within the team.
Mandatory
Skills:
Strong expertise in Mainframe IMS DBA, including database design, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
Proficient in software development methodologies and practices, with a focus on Agile and Dev Ops principles.
Experience with programming languages relevant to Mainframe environments, such as COBOL, JCL, and REXX.
Solid understanding of database management systems and data modeling techniques.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
Preferred
Skills:
Familiarity with modern software development tools and practices, including CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with cloud technologies and their integration with Mainframe systems.
Knowledge of additional database management systems beyond IMS, such as DB2 or Oracle.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
