Role Overview
The Admissions and Academic Advisor will be responsible for managing the complete admissions lifecycle while delivering high-touch academic advisory and student engagement support at the IIT Bombay campus.
This role requires a dual focus: driving enrolment outcomes through structured admissions management and ensuring that the academic, pastoral, and overall student experience in Mumbai consistently mirrors the standards and quality benchmarked by the Chicago campus.
The position will work in close coordination with the Chicago-based Admissions and Operations teams, ensuring timely processing, compliance, and seamless communication across time zones.
Key Responsibilities:
Admissions & Recruitment
Manage end-to-end admissions operations, including counselling prospective students from inbound leads through application, offer, and enrolment stages.
Review and validate application documents, academic transcripts, and supporting materials to ensure completeness, authenticity, and adherence to institutional admission standards.
Coordinate closely with the Chicago admissions team to facilitate timely evaluation, decision-making, and issuance of offer/visa-related documentation where applicable.
Drive lead engagement, follow-ups, and conversion strategy to meet enrolment targets while maintaining high data integrity within CRM systems.
Maintain accurate documentation, reporting, application status updates, and adherence to established application completion rules.
Represent the University at education fairs, partner schools, universities, and outreach initiatives to enhance brand visibility and student acquisition.
Engage regularly with applicants, parents, school counsellors, and channel partners to ensure smooth completion of applications and a positive pre-enrolment experience .
Collaborate with marketing and programme teams to ensure alignment on recruitment campaigns and outreach initiatives.
Academic Advisory & Student Experience
Serve as the designated Academic Advisor for the incoming cohort, guiding students on academic planning, course selection, and programme progression.
Provide structured, year-round advisory support and proactive hand-holding to students to ensure academic success and sustained engagement.
Act as the primary liaison between students and faculty, programme leadership, operations teams, and Chicago campus stakeholders.
Monitor student progress and intervene early in cases requiring academic or pastoral support.
Ensure responsiveness to student queries through defined communication protocols across email, CRM, and other engagement platforms.
Ensure that the overall academic and engagement experience at the IIT Bombay campus reflects the quality, responsiveness, and student support model of the Chicago campus .
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from a recognised institution is mandatory; a Master's degree in Education, Management, Student Affairs, or a related discipline is preferred.
