Role Summary
We are hiring a full-time SST Curriculum Developer to create CBSE & National Council of Educational Research and Training-aligned Social Studies content for book development (Classes K–7 / 1–7). The role requires strong expertise in school pedagogy, age-appropriate writing, and curriculum mapping, including NCF tagging (mapping content to NCF-aligned learning outcomes/competencies/curricular goals). This work is grounded in the NCF for School Education and NEP 2020 emphasis on competency-based and experiential learning.
Key Responsibilities
1) Curriculum & Content Development
- Develop SST book content for Classes K–7 / 1–7 (History, Geography, Civics, and integrated Social Science as applicable).
- Write student-friendly, grade-appropriate lessons with clear concept-building and storytelling where needed.
- Build chapter structures: introductions, key concepts, examples, activities, summaries, glossary, and end-of-chapter practice.
2) NCF Tagging & Curriculum Alignment
- Map each chapter/section to NCF-aligned curricular goals, competencies, and learning outcomes (NCF tagging).
- Ensure alignment with CBSE/NCERT expectations, including a learning-outcome driven approach.
- Maintain tagging documentation/taxonomy to ensure consistency across grades.
3) Pedagogy & Learning Methodologies
- Apply strong learning design practices: concept scaffolding, spiral progression, inquiry-based learning, activity-based learning, and formative assessment.
- Design competency-based checks (application/analysis tasks, not just recall), aligned with learning outcomes.
- Create inclusive, engaging learning experiences consistent with NEP’s focus on holistic and experiential learning.
4) Assessments, Activities & Teacher Support
- Create question banks across difficulty levels (MCQs, short/long answers, source-based, map-based, caselets).
- Develop classroom activities, projects, and worksheets with clear instructions and expected outputs.
- Draft teacher-facing support where required (teaching notes, answers, rubrics).
5) Collaboration & Quality
- Work with editors, designers, illustrators, and SMEs to finalize manuscripts.
- Ensure content accuracy, clarity, age appropriateness, and consistency in tone/style across the series.
- Incorporate review feedback and manage iterations efficiently.
Key Deliverables
- Detailed book manuscript per grade/term (as per project plan)
- NCF tagging sheet (chapter/lesson/outcome/competency mapping)
- Activity bank + assessment bank + answer keys
- Optional: teacher notes, rubrics, project guidelines
Required
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong understanding of CBSE/NCERT SST curriculum expectations and school textbook creation.
- Demonstrated ability to write child-friendly content for primary/middle school learners.

- Clear grasp of learning outcomes and competency-based learning design.
- Excellent English writing + content structuring; strong research and fact-checking ability.
- Comfort with tools like MS Word/Google Docs and structured templates (tagging sheets, trackers).
Preferred (Good to Have)
- Prior experience creating NCERT-style school content, workbooks, or assessments.
- Familiarity with Bloom’s taxonomy, rubrics, and classroom activity design.
- Experience working with editorial workflows, version control via trackers, and multi-round reviews.
- Ability to develop content in Hindi/other Indian languages (if your project needs it).
Experience Level (Suggested)
- 1–5 years in school curriculum/textbook/content development (flexible for exceptional candidates).
