University Guidance Counsellor

As the GSG family of schools expands, we are looking for a University Guidance Counsellor, to join our team who would contribute to career counselling and university guidance efforts at the allocated school(s).

The primary responsibility is to provide university admissions guidance and support to students in their academic and career development. You will be responsible for the career counselling and university placements of the students at the allocated school(s).

Your role also involves collaborating with faculty, parents, and community organizations to promote student success. This role is a critical part of the organizations strategy to develop our students into future ready graduates.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Conduct Psychometric and Aptitude tests to to help students identify their strengths, interests, and career aspirations.
- Schedule and conduct sessions / lectures by experts to enable career option exploration for grade 8-10.
- Organize career cum university admissions fair for grade 11
-12 to connect them with university representatives of top global universities.
- Drive one
-to- one counselling from grade 8-10 to help students and their parents –
- Interpret Psychometric and Aptitude tests outcome
- Help them choose the right – fit career option and relevant subject stream(s)
- Give activity recommendations to build their profile and demonstrate interests aligned with their career and stream choice
- Drive one – to – one counselling from grade 11-12 to help students and their parents –
- Select the right
-fit course, college, country and exam for their undergraduate education
- Create and execute a comprehensive plan for a successful application
- Guide them to craft stellar essays / personal statements for their applications
- Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure timely submission of transcripts, LORs and other relevant documents for university applications.

IV. JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree with a min of 60% in aggregate marks. Master’s degree from an institution in UK, Canada, Aus. or the US is a big plus.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and engage with diverse students, parents, and community organizations.
- In depth knowledge of undergrad admissions to top universities across the globe.
- Excellent written communication skill pertaining to English language with thorough understanding of SOP / Essays / Personal Statement for university admissions.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.

Experience

- At least 5 years of experience in career counselling / undergrad level for top universities / ivy league.
