Lead Content Acquisition & Commissioning

Pinkvilla is looking for a Lead of Content Acquisition & Commissioning to lead the strategy and execution for acquiring, commissioning, and scaling premium video content for a new video-first consumer product in the entertainment and lifestyle category.
This role will focus on sourcing high-quality content from external creators, production houses, studios, and partners, while building a strong pipeline of commissioned shows, formats, and creator-led programming.
You will work closely with creators, studios, and the broader entertainment ecosystem to bring compelling storytelling to the platform while ensuring content aligns with audience demand, brand standards, and platform growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
1) Content Acquisition Strategy
Define and execute the content acquisition roadmap for the platform across entertainment, lifestyle, and pop culture.
Identify and secure high-potential content libraries, digital IPs, creator-led formats, and studio partnerships.
Evaluate acquisition opportunities based on audience appeal, engagement potential, exclusivity potential, and platform fit.
Develop scalable acquisition strategies to build a strong and diverse content catalogue.
2) Content Commissioning & Programming
Lead the commissioning of original shows and formats with production houses, creators, and studios.
Build and manage the content development pipeline from concept pitching and green lighting to production oversight and final delivery.
Work closely with creators and producers to ensure commissioned content meets creative, audience, and brand objectives.
Identify opportunities to build recurring formats and long-term content franchises.
3) Licensing & Strategic Partnerships
Lead negotiations and partnerships for content licensing, syndication, and distribution deals.
Identify and onboard production houses, studios, digital creators, and media companies for long-term content partnerships.
Structure and negotiate content licensing agreements, co-production deals, and content-sharing partnerships.
Work with legal and finance teams to ensure clear rights management, exclusivity terms, and commercial viability.
Explore partnerships for regional content, international formats, and cross-platform collaborations.
4) Creator & Industry Ecosystem Development
Establish Pinkvilla as a preferred platform for creators, studios, and production houses in the entertainment and lifestyle ecosystem.
Build strong relationships across creator networks, talent agencies, studios, and emerging storytellers.
Identify rising talent and innovative storytelling formats that resonate with digital audiences.
Develop creator-led programming and influencer-driven formats.
5) Content Performance & Portfolio Optimization
Monitor performance of acquired and commissioned content across platforms.
Use data and audience insights to refine acquisition and commissioning strategies.
Optimize the content mix across licensed content, commissioned originals, and creator-led programming.
Continuously evolve the content portfolio to maximize engagement, retention, and audience growth.
6) Governance & Editorial Alignment
Ensure all acquired and commissioned content aligns with Pinkvilla’s editorial values, brand safety standards, and platform guidelines.
Develop processes for content evaluation, green lighting, and review.
Work with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth content governance and compliance.
What We Need
10–12+ years of experience in content acquisition, commissioning, partnerships, or programming within digital media, OTT platforms, or entertainment companies.
Strong network across production houses, studios, creators, and talent ecosystems.
Proven experience in content licensing, commissioning deals, and partnership negotiations.
Strong understanding of digital video ecosystems, pop culture trends, and audience behavior.
Ability to combine creative instincts with commercial and strategic thinking.
Strong leadership experience managing cross-functional teams and external partners.
Preferred Experience
Experience in OTT platforms, digital media networks, or large-scale video platforms.
Track record of launching successful shows, formats, or creator-led content franchises.
Experience structuring co-production, licensing, and content partnership deals.
Familiarity with short-form and long-form video ecosystems including You Tube, OTT platforms, and social video.
