Role Overview
Arcot Group is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Junior Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations, statutory compliances, and financial reporting. The role involves managing core accounting activities including GST and TDS compliance, accounts payable and receivable, ledger maintenance, MIS reporting, and audit support. This position is ideal for candidates with hands-on accounting experience who are comfortable working in a deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
1) Accounting & Bookkeeping
Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts and the general ledger.
Record, verify, and post journal entries with accuracy in ledgers and sub-ledgers.
Handle end-to-end accounts payable and receivable processes.
2) GST & TDS Compliance
Manage GST return filings , including input/output reconciliation and timely compliance.
Prepare and file TDS returns , generate challans, and ensure accurate deductions and payments.
3) MIS & Financial Reporting
Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities.
Prepare and support MIS reports for internal review and management decision-making.
Generate and analyze financial reports to highlight trends and variances.
4) Audit & Compliance Support
Support statutory and internal audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
Ensure financial records are accurate, organized, and audit-ready at all times.
5) Coordination & Team Support
Collaborate with the finance team on budget preparation and financial forecasting.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
Tools &
Skills Required:
Strong working knowledge of GST and TDS provisions , filings, and compliance workflows.
Proficiency in Tally ERP 9 and MS Excel (including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc.).
High attention to detail, accuracy, and strong organizational skills.
Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Educational
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce , or a related field.
2–3 years of relevant experience , preferably in a Chartered Accountancy firm or accounting role.
