Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic textile industry team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Accounting:
Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions related to textile manufacturing, inventory, and sales.
Reconcile bank accounts and other general ledger accounts.
Assist in the month-end and year-end close processes, including inventory valuation and cost accounting.

Inventory Management:
Oversee inventory valuation methods (FIFO, LIFO, or weighted average) and ensure accurate stock records.
Monitor inventory levels and identify potential shortages or excesses.
Assist in physical inventory counts and reconciliation.

Cost Accounting:
Analyze production costs, including direct materials, direct labor, and overhead expenses.
Calculate product costs and margins.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to improve profitability.

Tax Compliance:
Prepare and file various tax returns, including GST, TDS, and income tax returns, considering specific tax implications for the textile industry.
Stay updated on tax laws and regulations, including excise duty and customs duties.
Coordinate with tax authorities and auditors.

Internal Controls:
Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accuracy of financial records, especially in areas like inventory management and production costing.
Identify and mitigate potential risks.

Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare financial reports and analysis for management, highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs) relevant to the textile industry, such as production efficiency, inventory turnover, and gross margin.
Provide insights into financial performance and identify trends.
Assist with budgeting and forecasting.

Audits:
Coordinate with external auditors and provide necessary documentation.
Address audit queries and recommendations, especially related to inventory valuation, production costs, and compliance with textile industry-specific regulations.

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the textile industry. concepts.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, Quick Books, ERP systems) and textile industry-specific software.
