Senior Executive

Main Objectives

Monitoring, planning, implementing, and coordinating the Safety Management System (SMS) and other safety-related programs to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations, with a primary focus on aviation safety investigations and risk management. Directing the activities of personnel to ensure the proper identification of root causes of aviation safety occurrences and the application of safety measures and practices in order to mitigate the risks associated with airside operations and consequences of safety occurrences.

• Leading the safety investigation process, including conducting investigations of incidents, accidents, violations, and personnel injuries related to Airside Safety, and submitting all investigations to the relevant authorities and airlines, along with the implemented corrective/preventive measures.
• Report safety incidents to senior management to ensure proper reporting and quick resolution of any potential safety risks, while advising on airside safety policies and procedures to ensure alignment with the organization's broader safety objectives and compliance with aviation safety standards.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and implement corrective actions and preventive measures based on investigation findings and recommendations to prevent any future shortfalls and ensure a safe and secure working environment.
• Prepare safety data analysis reports, including thorough analysis of safety occurrences such as accidents, incidents, injuries, safety violations, and other incidents investigated by the team, with reports generated monthly, quarterly, annually, or whenever focused data is required for management purposes. This is to ensure safety performance is monitored, mapped and trends are identified to determine compliance to established KPIs and monitor deviations.
• Monitoring and measuring safety performance indicators and targets on a monthly basis in order to compile statistical data for safety matters, which will provide trends to assist in the prevention of safety incidents.
• Maintaining and updating safety investigation-related documentation, such as manuals, policies, procedures, checklists, etc., ensuring compliance with local and international safety standards.
• Performing hazard and risk assessments related to safety investigations and ensuring control measures identified in the assessments are implemented by the relevant departments through oversight and spot checks, as part of proactive safety management and mitigating likelihood of occurrences.
• Collaborating with the airport operator (BAC) departments, and BAS internal departments/external manpower management for investigations, arranging interviews, conducting follow-up inspections, and closing investigation reports.
• Comply with Company's and airport authorities' health, safety & security requirements.
• Carries out other similar or related duties as directed by the management.

• Minimum of a University Diploma.

• Minimum of 4-5 years' experience in Aviation Safety and Airport Operations.

• Professional Certificates: IATA, ACI, ICAO, NEBOSH, IOSH, etc. and/or equivalent.
• Experience or knowledge in aviation safety-related investigations.
• Experience and knowledge in GSE operations and technicalities.
• Fluent in written & spoken English & Arabic language.
• Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint and other applications.
