Each year, 2.5 trillion hours are spent on household chores. At Matic, we’re on a mission to recapture that lost time, and we’re doing it by revolutionizing home robotics.

Our first product, also called Matic, is a Wall‑E-esque floor cleaning robot. We've built what amounts to "full self‑driving in the home” with real‑time 3D mapping, adaptive path‑tracking, and a precise semantic understanding of the home. Our breakthroughs in spatial AI allow Matic to work reliably in real homes, using only RGB cameras and neural networks running on‑device.

What happens in the home, stays in the home. Our robots are private by design, with all data processing performed by the robot itself, not in the cloud.

Before the iPhone, consumers adopted several distinct devices; cell phones, PDAs, and portable music players each served a particular need. We believe in a similar progression for home robotics, starting with single‑purpose robots and building iteratively toward more complex capabilities over time.

We’re looking for a senior‑level software engineer who can own our iOS stack and ensure that it serves as an intuitive, visually appealing interface for the connections between our robots and the humans who use them.

What you'll do

• Build a mobile app that enables delightful, multi‑modal interactions between humans and robots and mirrors the real world in 3D in real time.

• Create first‑of‑its‑kind mapping, scrollable time‑lapse, and dynamic user interface on a 3D world that’s super intuitive and feels like magic to users

• Closely collaborate with our Design, Software, Algorithms, and Hardware teams to bring to life a product vision that changes users' perception of what’s possible

• Be part of a small team of talented engineers, with huge impact on the trajectory of our product

What we look for

• Experience building iOS applications from end‑to‑end, especially with a focus on 3D graphics or game development

• Systems‑level fluency in Swift, Rust, and/or Python is required; experience with C/C++, Objective‑C, or Android development is a plus

• Comfort with math fundamentals that go well beyond front‑end development

• Familiarity with vertex and compute shaders, coordinate‑space transforms, and rasterization pipelines is a plus

• Strong product and design intuition driven by a genuine obsession with user experience

• Proven track record of mobile launches

• Pride in your programming and attention to detail

• Comfort with a fast‑paced, startup atmosphere -- you don’t shy away from the hard work

• Ability to take risks, a passion for learning, and no fear of failure

Compensation

Base $120,000 — $200,000

Actual Compensation will depend on skills, experience and qualifications. Base Salary is one part of the total compensation package. The role is also eligible for equity through the company’s discretionary equity program, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental and vision coverage access to a 401(k) plan.
