Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience programming in C++, Java, Python, Kotlin or Go.
- 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products.
- 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
- Experience with data processing or data analytics.
- Experience in common programming languages, such as Python, C++, Go, and SQL.
- Experience in fostering collaboration and building cross‑functional synergy without relying on formal reporting structures.
- Experience in executive‑level communication, delivering concise and impactful updates to executive leadership, including VPs and Directors.
- Experience performing comprehensive, self‑directed research as an individual contributor within fast‑paced, complex environments.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to resolve conflicts of interest autonomously to achieve meaningful results.

As the industry undergoes a disruptive shift driven by Agentic surfaces and new AI technologies, Google Shopping stands at a pivotal moment. Our Shopping data platforms manage billions of product offers from merchants across the world (including Ads, Discovery, Search, You Tube, Gmail, Shopping tab, and Maps) and represent a major business generation stream for the company. While this surface complexity is a significant engaging asset in the Agentic Shopping era, it also creates substantial analytics and engineering hurdles.
Our team is responsible for the centralized platform used to define, implement, and distribute the organization’s primary data products for all Shopping use cases. As Google teams and external merchants navigate the global AI revolution, providing fast and precise data sourcing is essential for strategy development and accurate headroom analysis.

The mission for Google Commerce is to be an essential part of the shopping journey for consumers – from inspiration to a simple and secure checkout experience – and the best place for retailers/merchants to connect with consumers.

The US base salary range for this full‑time position is $197,000–$291,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
