Senior Software/Firmware Engineer (On-device Telemetry Development)

About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software/Firmware Engineer to design and implement robust on-device telemetry solutions. This role focuses on building efficient, reliable, and scalable infrastructure for collecting and securely transporting critical debug logs and product metrics from devices to the cloud, while ensuring minimal impact on device performance.

• Lead the implementation of core projects aimed at redefining the telemetry infrastructure for critical log collection and transport.
• Design and build robust on-device system process integrations for efficient telemetry data collection and API-based data transport.
• Introduce enhancements to logging mechanisms to enable faster insights and streamlined debugging.
• Propose and drive major reliability and scalability improvements within the existing on-device telemetry infrastructure.

• 5+ years of hands‑on experience writing code that runs on-device (embedded systems, Android native, etc.).
• Strong proficiency in at least one of the following:
  Kotlin, Rust, C++, Java.
• Proven experience with Android system components such as Android native processes, Android application development, Android system server, Android AIDL, SELinux, GMSCore SDK development.
• Experience designing and implementing inter‑process or inter‑app communication mechanisms.
• Familiarity with SELinux policies and Android permission models.
• Deep understanding of the Android framework.
• Passion for building high‑performance on-device telemetry solutions for firmware, system logs, and product metrics.
