We are seeking a skilled and compassionate
General Cardiology Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our El Camino Health Medical Network team. The General Cardiology Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides comprehensive cardiovascular care in collaboration with cardiologists and the interdisciplinary care team. The NP is responsible for the evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of patients with acute and chronic cardiac conditions. This role focuses on delivering high-quality, evidence-based, patient-centered care in an outpatient and/or inpatient cardiology setting.
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive cardiovascular assessments, including detailed history and physical examinations
Evaluate and manage patients with conditions such as coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and valvular heart disease
Order and interpret diagnostic tests including EKGs, echocardiograms, stress tests, Holter monitors, cardiac imaging, and laboratory studies
Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans in collaboration with supervising cardiologists
Provide patient education on disease management, lifestyle modifications, medication adherence, and preventive cardiology
Participate in hospital rounds (if applicable) and coordinate care transitions
Perform in-office procedures within scope of practice
Collaborate with primary care providers and specialists to ensure coordinated cardiovascular care
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adherence to cardiology clinical protocols
Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice
National board certification (FNP, AGNP, or ACNP)
Current DEA registration
BLS and ACLS certification required
Prior cardiology experience strongly preferred
Strong understanding of cardiovascular pathophysiology and treatment guidelines
Ability to interpret cardiac diagnostics including EKGs and common imaging reports
Proficiency in managing chronic cardiac conditions and medication titration
Excellent patient education and counseling skills
Strong collaboration and communication skills
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
Familiarity with value-based care and quality metrics in cardiology
