Nurse Practitioner, Vascular Surgery at Sutter Health
We are so glad you are interested in joining Sutter Health! The Nurse Practitioner will assess, diagnose, plan, and implement medical care in collaboration with physicians, delivering holistic, patient‑centered care in the vascular surgery setting.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the medical care for patients utilizing clinical protocols in collaboration with physicians.
- Perform physical examinations, vaccinations, screenings, and mental status baseline assessments.
- Conduct diagnostic examinations, maintain detailed medical histories, and update clinical documentation.
- Consult with supervising physicians regarding abnormal findings or when applying clinical protocols.
- Perform standardized procedures without direct physician supervision or approval, including sclerotherapy.
- Assess patients and families, coordinate interdisciplinary care plans, and ensure continuity of care.
- Deliver compassionate, cost‑effective patient care while maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment.
- Delegate tasks appropriately based on legal scope of practice, licensure, and team capability.
- Communicate treatment plans and educational needs to patients and families using teach‑back techniques.
- Monitor outcomes, reassess care plans, and document interventions in the electronic health record.
- Participate in safety event analysis and quality improvement initiatives.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Master’s degree in Nursing.
- NP‑California Nurse Practitioner by the California Department of Consumer Affairs
- RN‑California Registered Nurse
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) as required by department
- 5 years of recent relevant experience in vascular or acute care settings.
- Demonstrated knowledge of advanced nursing theories, medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Electronic Health Record, and clinical software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences.
- Ability to prioritize, delegate, and work independently within established policies and procedures.
Full‑time, 40 hours per week. Days variable with occasional weekend duties. Competitive pay range: $92.80 – $134.56 per hour. Comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, retirement, and tuition assistance.
