Position SummaryThe Membership Coordinator is responsible for developing and managing supporting member stewardship events in collaboration with the Development Team and museum staff. This role will lead the acknowledgment process, including preparing letters, and emails. The Membership Coordinator leads efforts on key fundraising initiatives like Giving Tuesday and membership renewals, ensuring timely and accurate communication with stakeholders. Additionally, this position will manage the Chief Development Officer’s calendar, ensuring alignment with key events, meetings, and deadlines.
Position requires some early morning, late evening and weekend hours on occasion
- Prepare and manage acknowledgment letters and emails, providing guidance on the email process to colleagues.
- Coordinate the acknowledgment letter refresh process.
- Oversee membership renewals by ensuring timely communication and follow-up.
- Develop and manage supporting member stewardship events in collaboration with the Development Team and museum staff:
Core Appreciation;
President’s Lunch;
Membership Receptions; - Responsible for information tracking, and evaluation related to stewardship events.
Lead the coordination of Giving Tuesday efforts, working with development, IT and communication teams to maximize outreach.
Administrative- Manage the Chief Development Officer’s calendar, ensuring alignment with key events, meetings, and deadlines.
- Track notes and action items during bi‑weekly Campaign meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the development team and museum objectives.

- Adhere to all CHM protocols, procedures, rules, and policies.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Previous experience in nonprofit membership coordination, development, or fundraising roles.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience managing donor databases and tracking software (Salesforce or similar).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a high attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Problem‑solving skills, with the ability to anticipate needs and proactively address issues.
- Highly collaborative and able to work across multiple teams.
- Self‑motivated, with a positive and professional demeanor.

Salary Range: $28–30/hour
