Position: Senior Employment Counsel

About the Opportunity

A Fortune 500 financial software company is looking for a Senior Employment Counsel with 10+ years  experience in Employment & Labor starting as soon as possible.

The work will involve driving and advising on the end-to-end implementation of workforce compliance issues and providing business-focused advice and counseling in support of the company s workforce strategies, policies, and legal claim management
. Direct experience with international employment matters is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Drive and advise on the end-to-end implementation of workforce compliance issues from issue identification and strategy, ideation, worker experience, policy development, compliance, and operations to support the company’s global workforce.
  • Provide timely, business-focused advice and counseling in support of workforce strategies, policies, legal claim management in accordance with evolving global laws and regulations.
  • Analyze current international support models, develop, and implement strategy to ensure best in class worker support.
  • Build trusted and inclusive partnerships with partners in HR centers of excellence and provide clear, data-driven insights to address concerns and reach best outcomes.
  • Develop and execute priorities and initiatives for the broader legal, compliance, and policy organization, including new challenges presented by the external environment.
  • Location:

    Mountain View, CA or San Diego, CA (open to relocation)
  • Schedule:

    Hybrid, 3 days a week in-office
  • Compensation: $19,000 to $25,000 per month (engagement basis)
  • Expected Base Pay Range:
  • Mountain View, CA: $242,
Qualifications
  • Over 10 years of experience advising technology companies on complex global workforce matters, with a strong in-house background and experience handling international employment issues, including litigation and regulatory compliance.
  • Partner closely with HR teams and business leaders to understand organizational needs and provide practical guidance on issues ranging from pay equity and wage and hour compliance to complex employee exits and cross-border workforce challenges.
  • Able to operate independently with minimal supervision, delivering strategic, business-oriented legal advice that supports organizational goals while managing risk effectively.
  • Communicate legal concepts clearly and concisely to stakeholders at all levels, including senior executives, and produce well-structured written analysis that enables informed decision-making.
Required
  • Required: Candidates must be able to work full-time.
  • The work will be performed hybrid (3 days per week) in Mountain View, CA or San Diego, CA
  • Candidates will be employed through an Employer of Record (EOR) for the duration of the engagement OR direct hire.
