Network Operations Field Technician

Part-Time with local Bay Area travel

• Assisting in critical network infrastructure environment maintenance tasks
• Conducting IDF commissioning audit (Handoff/Closeout)
• Correctly label racks/IDFs
• Assisting in updating existing QC SOP, & MOP documents
• Deploying base config on network devices as needed
• Following existing methods of procedure (MOP)
• Handling patching requests copper and fiber
• IDF clean-up hygiene tasks at assigned location(s)
• Performing MDF/IDF audits and JR audits
• Performing basic troubleshooting of break fix issues
• Performing basic troubleshooting during an outage
• Performing IDF audit remediation as directed
• Supporting projects requested by manager
• Providing support for change requests (CRs)
• Providing support for power shutdowns
• Rack-mounting switches and routers
• Reviewing and comment on MOPs
• Testing and troubleshoot basic copper and fiber links
• Testing and troubleshoot complex multipoint circuits
• Updating commonly used documents (Rack docs, Fiber mapping, Netcracker, Double Helix)
• Participating in the on-call rotation once training is completed

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Experience with network installation, including fiber and copper patching preferred
• Experience installing Cisco equipment preferred
• Certifications preferred: A+, N+, S+, (CompTIA Certs), MCP
• Experience using ITSM tools, ticketing systems, and reporting
• Experience with Google tools preferred (Google Sheets)
• Effective time management skills and the ability to work independently
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Must have reliable/personal transportation
• Keen attention to detail is required
• Ability to read and understand maps/diagrams
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds

• Certifications in technology specific areas, networking, or management preferred
