About the job

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi‑disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross‑functional partners across the company.

Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.

This role will support the Kids and Family Google level focus on building a regulatory understanding of how our products work in this space to inform upcoming and existing regulations, and help build external narratives on how our product works with Kids. It will also focus on building up a compliance presence in other prioritized areas for Geo. Having a focused Program Manager working in these spaces will help Geo Compliance scale in these focus areas.

In this role, you will work closely and report into the Head of Compliance to develop, manage and drive ongoing compliance initiatives in Geo, ensuring we are following the policies, guidelines, and the laws and regulations that impact our innovative projects; and ensure the business achieves its goals. Your day‑to‑day will involve managing multiple regulatory projects across a variety of teams, topics, and compliance areas.

This role requires you to come up with new ways to solve the needs for Geo in our regulatory environment and work with many teams to bring them along the journey.

The Geo team is focused on building the most accurate, comprehensive, and useful maps for our users, through products like Maps, Earth, Street View, Google Maps Platform, and more. Every month, more than a billion people rely on Maps services to explore the world and navigate their daily lives. The Geo team also enables developers to use the power of Google Maps platforms to enhance their apps and websites.

As they plot a course for the future of mapping, they are solving complex computer science problems, designing beautiful and intuitive product experiences, and improving our understanding of the real world.

The US base salary range for this full‑time position is $147,000–$216,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities
  • Execute on multiple regulatory programs across Geo to ensure on‑time delivery.
  • Work closely with product owners to develop effective processes, policies, controls, and metrics that mature compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Develop and present executive materials for our Trust Council and Geo Leads reviews.
  • Drive other ad‑hoc projects to unpack risks, develop mitigation plans, track progress, and provide compliance support to executive leads as required.
