ASRC Federal is looking for a Technical Project/Program Management Specialist to support its High Performance Computing (HPC) program by providing program-wide project coordination, governance, and continuous improvement support within a complex technical environment. Reporting to the Site Lead and supporting the Program Manager, this role helps establish and sustain project management best practices across the Ames site while ensuring consistent execution and leadership visibility across the program.

The Specialist supports the full project lifecycle, working across matrixed, cross-functional teams to coordinate planning, execution, integration, and operational readiness activities. By maintaining project infrastructure, enabling clear communication, and driving standards-based processes, this role directly contributes to reliable HPC operations and continuous program improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the day-to-day Project Management Infrastructure that includes, but is not limited to
  • Working with Site Lead and PM to continually improve best practices
  • Conduct weekly project review meetings
  • Maintain and curate project documents for all projects, working with respective project teams to ensure project document thoroughness
  • Increase and saturate adoption rate of Project Management best practices
• Provide direct project management of higher profile or complex projects
• Track and inspect all RCA Action Items to completion
• Drive continuity of processes across teams
• Manage Operational Readiness Changes

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in an IT related discipline plus 3 to 10 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Demonstrated project management experience in leading simple to moderate complex projects
• Technical awareness and background (IT operations, system administration)
• Highly proficient in personal productivity tools (Microsoft Office) and advanced features
• Demonstrated experience in Project Management vocabulary and concepts
• Demonstrated experience using Project Management Software (MS Project and Jira)
• Ability to interpret and scope requirements and translate them into concrete deliverables
• Impeccable organization skills to balance and prioritize activities
• Great communication skills to communicate with support personnel, government leads, and contract managers, and sub-contractors
• Strong ability to interact with customers, understand needs, elicit requirements, and get feedback on prototype solutions in an intimate environment

Preferred

Skills:

• PMP or ITIL Certification
• Master’s Degree in related field
