We are looking for an exceptional Data Analyst that can play a key role in automating the monitoring and analysis of the safety performance of the Aurora Driver. The ideal candidate will be someone who thrives working cross-functionally, gets things done, and has an ability to navigate complex and exciting projects with our partner Safety, Vehicle, Hardware, and Software teams. In this role, you will

  • Work with our safety and engineering teams to provide data tools and insights to continually improve the safety of the Aurora Driver
  • Partner closely with those stakeholders to design and implement metrics and dashboards to help them measure, understand, and improve their safety performance
  • Collaborate with a team of world-class Data Scientists and Analysts on Data Science & Analytics problems spanning multiple subsystems (eg. Vehicle Platforms, Hardware Systems, Fault Management System, and Autonomy)
  • Collaborate with our Data Science & Analytics and Engineering communities to ensure the adoption of best practices and suggest improvements

Required Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of experience as a Data Analyst, Data Scientist, or similar technical role.
  • Proven experience taking Data Analytics projects end-to-end, from synthesizing business needs to building and maintaining data pipelines.
  • Advanced proficiency with relational databases (SQL, Postgre

    SQL, etc.) and knowledge of Data Engineering best practices.
  • Intermediate knowledge of data analytics infrastructure, including experience with data transformation tools like DBT and various visualization frameworks/tools.
  • Competency in Python, demonstrated by the ability to write readable, maintainable, and easily interpretable code.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a highly cross-functional, fast-moving, and high-stakes environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to translate and cascade executive input into actionable, data-driven technical analysis for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (MS) in Statistics, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related quantitative field
  • Experience using Amazon Web Services (AWS) tools
  • Experience using data-modeling business intelligence tools such as Tableau, Looker, etc.
