Software QA Engineer

KPI is looking for a Software QA Engineer to join one of our clients, a high-tech SaaS company.

Work Location: Mountain View, CA; (on-site 4 days a week)
Duration: 12-month contract; hybrid role

Pay Range: $60/hr to $70/hr

As PC Test Engineer, you will be responsible for performing end‑to‑end testing of a product or feature, including requirement and design analysis, test case creation & review, manual test execution, and developing automation tests for PC (Windows), focusing on UEFI‑based BIOS.

• Create test cases with good coverage and clear, concise writing
• Understand project/features through limited documentation and ask quality questions to understand the bigger picture, and design a test case covering E2E
• Design, develop, and maintain automation test tools
• Collaborate with onsite and overseas cross‑functional teams during the project life cycle for requirement gathering, design analysis, issue debugging, and fix validation
• Drive the overall quality of the project, assess, report product quality risks, and ensure quality deliverables
• Analyze quality metrics, identify areas of improvement, and implement innovative ideas to enhance the product quality

• 3 years’ experience in UEFI‑based BIOS validations
• Education:
  
  Master’s in Computer Science or Equivalent
• Experience with debugging tools and techniques — UART, JTAG Debug, and Windbg
• Basic programming knowledge in Python and scripting
• Good understanding of System Validation / Platform validation on Windows OS platforms with focus on UEFI‑based BIOS and firmware updates
• Experience testing Secure boot, anti‑roll back/rollback prevention, self‑healing, and data secure protection is a plus
• Excellent understanding of QA processes and methodologies
• Ability to work on multiple simultaneous projects/initiatives
