Who are we and why should you join us?

Better Help is on a mission to champion the well-being in all of us and make mental healthcare more accessible to everyone. Founded in 2013, we are now the world’s largest online therapy service, providing affordable and convenient therapy across the globe. Our network of over 30,000 licensed therapists has helped millions of people take ownership of their mental health and change their lives forever.

And we’re not stopping there – as the unmet need for mental health services continues to grow, Better Help is committed to being part of the solution.

What are we looking for?

In your role as Senior HRBP, you will assess and anticipate Better Help’s HR needs, acting as liaison between our HR department and upper management. You’ll leverage your strategic HR management skills to develop solutions that align our HR programs and policies with our high-level business objectives. Serving as an employee champion and change agent, you’ll bring value to both our company and our employees, in an exciting growth environment.

This role will report directly into our Head of People.

What will you do?
  • Provide strategic business partnership and coaching to Better Help’s managers and leaders.
  • Develop and maintain an effective working knowledge of Better Help’s mid- and long-range plans, its culture, and its competition.
  • Meet regularly with various department heads to assess and advise on current employee needs.
  • Work closely with management and employees to continually enhance working relationships, build morale and increase productivity and retention.
  • Build strong relationships with key people in the client group by frequently connecting with them about their concerns and insights.
  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions) to enhance organizational effectiveness.
  • Partner with our legal department as needed, maintaining in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to HR and employee management, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, conducting effective, thorough, and objective investigations as needed.
  • Analyze HR trends and metrics to develop solutions, programs, and processes.
  • Provide consultative advice related to business unit restructuring, workforce planning and succession planning.
  • Assist in driving various HR initiatives: performance management, goal setting, merit reviews and employee career development.
What will you NOT do?
  • You will NOT worry about "runway", "cash left", or "how much time we have until the next round". We have the startup DNA but we're fully backed and funded, all the way to success.
  • You will NOT be confined to your "job". You will get involved in product, marketing, business strategy, and almost everything we do.
  • You will NOT be bogged down by office politics, ego, or bad attitude. Only positive, pleasure-to-work-with people are allowed here!
  • You will NOT get yourself burned out. We work hard but we believe in maintaining a sustainable work/life balance. Really.
Can I work remotely?

Yes. We operate on PST and candidates in any time zone are welcome to apply. We ask employees to travel to our San Jose, CA office up to three times per year plus one company-wide offsite to collaborate in person and strengthen working relationships. Travel expenses are covered and reasonable accommodations are made for those under unique circumstances who cannot travel.
