Overview

We are hiring immediately for a Assistant Cafe Manager position.

Location:

Mountain View, CA

Schedule:

Monday - Friday 6am to 4pm

Pay Range: $76,240.00 - $78,000.00 annually

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic Assistant Cafe Manager to join our Bon Appétit team. The assistant plays a crucial role in the overall success and operational excellence of the café, acting as a pivotal leader in delivering world-class service.

Key Responsibilities
  • In this role, you will ensure adherence to our partner’s culture and guidelines, local Health Department regulations, and Bon Appétit’s standards for food quality, freshness, and presentation. Working closely alongside the Cafe Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of the café, with a focus on development and performance management of team members. You will motivate and direct every associate to achieve operational objectives, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction and fostering a strong relationship with clients.
  • Workplace & Food Safety:
    Rigorously manage safety standards, including allergen management, to ensure guest well-being and total operational compliance.
  • Culture of Safety:
    Attend monthly safety meetings, participate in safety inspections, and ensure daily operations meet corporate safety benchmarks.
  • Exceptional Hospitality:
    Establish and maintain a consistent expectation of hospitality that is warm, inclusive, and guest-focused.
  • Develop & Upskill Talent:
    Participate in the selection of team members and lead ongoing training and professional development of front-of-house staff.
  • Financial Stewardship:
    Monitor and manage financial and budgetary responsibilities, ensuring standards are met while maintaining fiscal efficiency.
  • Administrative Compliance:
    Meet timelines for payroll, service reports, accounts receivable, and HR documentation as required.
  • Digital Operations:
    Operate web-based ordering systems, process customer requests, and manage menu updates.
  • Collaborative Partnerships:
    Maintain communication and partnership with the Cafe Manager and client stakeholders to ensure the cafe's objectives are consistently met.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education:

    Associate's degree preferred, not required.
  • Safety Leadership:
    Demonstrated ability to drive a culture focused on Food and Workplace Safety.
  • Supervisory

    Experience:

    A minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience in a similar high-volume, premium food service or hospitality environment.
  • Relevant

    Experience:

    Prior experience in a restaurant, café, hotel, or high-end events environment is a plus.
  • Inclusion:
    Proven ability to integrate diverse perspectives and experiences to build a cohesive team culture.
  • Communication:
    Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide clear direction and guest-facing hospitality.
  • Technical Proficiency:
    Proficient in computer and technical skills, including working knowledge of Google Suite.
  • Certifications:

    Serv Safe Certification is preferred.
  • Union Environment:
    Experience managing in a Union Environment is a plus.

While this schedule and location are currently projected, they are flexible and may be adjusted to meet evolving business demands.
