Role Overview

The Accountant will play a critical role in supporting AI Fund’s growing finance function across its management company, funds, and portfolio companies. As AI Fund continues to scale, this role is essential to maintaining operational excellence, financial accuracy, and compliance as the firm expands in complexity.

This position will lead key accounting and forecasting functions for the management company, provide portfolio company monitoring, and support capital management and fund activities. The ideal candidate is a detail‑oriented finance professional with strong technical accounting knowledge, analytical capability supported by AI & coding tools, and a drive to improve systems and processes in a fast‑paced venture environment.

Key Responsibilities

This role leads monthly financial reporting and consolidation for the management company entities, ensuring timely and accurate results for leadership. It develops and maintains monthly reporting analytics, quarterly cash flow forecasts, and annual budgets, while driving annual tax filings in collaboration with external advisors to ensure compliance and efficiency. The position also leads management fee deferral analysis to optimize GP‑level tax outcomes and prepares actual‑to‑budget variance tracking with concise management reporting.

On the portfolio side, the role spearheads portfolio monitoring and analysis to maintain accurate and consistent financial and operating metrics across companies. It provides treasury, accounting, and tax support during both the build phase and the transition to pre‑seed funding, partnering with portfolio company CEOs and the internal build team to strengthen financial processes and reporting readiness.

For capital management, the role oversees accounts payable and treasury processes for the management company and supports fund‑level capital activities, including the preparation and reconciliation of capital calls, distributions, and LP statements. It coordinates closely with fund administrators to ensure precise and timely capital accounting.

The position supports annual audit and tax deliverables across the funds, the management company, and related entities, partnering with auditors, administrators, and tax advisors to meet all compliance requirements on schedule. It maintains clear documentation and robust process controls throughout each reporting cycle.

Finally, the role continuously identifies opportunities to automate recurring tasks and streamline reporting workflows. In partnership with the CFO, it implements AI‑and code‑driven tools, templates, and systems that enhance team efficiency and accuracy, contributing to the ongoing scaling of finance operations as the Fund grows in scope and complexity.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 4+ years in accounting or FP&A, ideally within venture capital or private equity.
  • Solid understanding of management company accounting, financial models, and cash‑flow forecasting.
  • Hands‑on experience working with auditors and tax advisors across multi‑entity structures.
  • Demonstrated use of AI, coding tools, and LLM‑driven workflows as part of daily work (not theoretical familiarity).
  • Experienced with Excel and Google Sheets (complex formulas, dynamic models, automations).
  • Comfortable with financial automation platforms; ability to evaluate and implement new tools.
  • Strong command of U.S. GAAP, fund structures, and partnership accounting.
  • Able to translate complex financial concepts into clear, concise written and verbal communication.
  • Experience with AI coding tools.
  • Responsible, self‑motivated, and solutions‑oriented with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Strong professional curiosity and proactive about AI‑enabled process improvements and building scalable systems.
  • Collaborative and communicative; thrives in cross‑functional environments.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced setting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • CPA designation strongly preferred.

$85,000 - $120,000 a year

As AI Fund expands into its next stage of growth, with multiple active funds, 50+ portfolio companies, and increasing reporting obligations, this position will be instrumental in maintaining financial discipline, transparency, and compliance.

This is an opportunity to join a high‑performing finance team at the center of AI Fund’s mission: to systematically build and scale AI startups that transform industries.
