Intern - Biomedical Engineering & Neurotechnology
Location: Mountain View, California
About the RoleWe're seeking a motivated Research Intern with interdisciplinary expertise in DSP – digital signal processing, computer programming knowledge in C, and neurology/neuroscience to join our innovative team. This position is ideal for a graduate student completing their Master's degree who wants hands‑on experience at the intersection of engineering and neuroscience.
What You'll Do- Design and develop biomedical instrumentation for neural signal acquisition and processing
- Conduct physiological experiments using advanced recording techniques (EEG, EMG, or similar)
- Analyze neural data using signal processing algorithms and machine learning approaches
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including engineers, neuroscientists, and clinicians
- Present research findings to internal teams and contribute to publications
- Support ongoing projects in brain‑computer interfaces, neural prosthetics, or therapeutic devices
- Currently pursuing or recently completed MS in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Neuroscience, or related field
- Strong academic record with relevant coursework in circuit design, signal processing, and neurophysiology
- Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or similar programming languages would help
- Experience with analog/digital circuit design and PCB layout
- Knowledge of neural signal processing and data analysis techniques
- Familiarity with physiological recording systems and experimental protocols
- Understanding of neuroanatomy and basic neuroscience principles
- Previous research experience in academic or industry settings
- Publications or presentations at conferences
- Knowledge of machine learning applications in neuroscience
- Strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in team environments
- Self‑motivated with ability to manage multiple projects
- Passion for translating engineering solutions from neurological biomechanics
