Senior Systems Test Engineer, Autonomy Behavior Build the Validation Engine Behind Driverless Mobility

Join a leader in autonomous vehicle technology that is redefining how intelligent driving systems are built, validated, and deployed. This organization develops advanced self driving platforms that integrate artificial intelligence with production grade automotive hardware, supporting applications ranging from robotaxis and commercial fleets to consumer vehicles. With real world deployments and long term industry partnerships, the company is shaping the path toward safe and scalable autonomy.

The

Team

The Systems Engineering group serves as the technical backbone of autonomous driving development. This team defines system requirements, architects cross disciplinary solutions, and establishes the metrics that determine readiness for deployment. Working across software, hardware, simulation, and robot operations, Systems Engineering ensures that sensing, perception, prediction, and planning systems operate cohesively and safely.

As a focused and high impact team, Systems Engineering sets the technical gates for releasing autonomy capabilities into real world environments. Every validation decision, performance threshold, and safety checkpoint flows through this group.

Your Impact

As Senior Systems Test Engineer for Autonomy Behavior, you will lead the evolution of the Verification and Validation ecosystem that underpins driverless deployment. This is a deeply technical role centered on automation, architectural clarity, and process rigor. Your work will directly influence how autonomous behaviors are tested, how issues are surfaced and resolved, and how evidence is generated to support the broader autonomy safety case.

You will design scalable validation frameworks, standardize workflows across teams, and embed continuous learning into the testing lifecycle. By building robust, automated pipelines and enabling data driven decision making, you will help transform validation into a strategic advantage.

What You Will Drive
  • Architect Automated Validation Pipelines:
Design and implement scalable test frameworks and tooling that streamline adoption for systems engineers while minimizing operational friction.
  • Unify Testing Workflows:
Establish standardized triage and prioritization processes across simulation, on vehicle testing, and data driven evaluation streams.
  • Elevate Continuous Improvement:
Lead root cause investigations, identify systemic testing gaps, and close feedback loops that strengthen the overall V and V strategy.
  • Translate Gaps into Action:
Convert identified weaknesses in system behavior or infrastructure into precise technical requirements for partner teams such as Simulation, Data Platform, and Infrastructure.
  • Partner Across Engineering:
Collaborate with cross functional teams to validate solutions, review implementations, and ensure testing systems are robust, maintainable, and scalable.
  • Strengthen Safety Evidence:
Generate high quality test artifacts that substantiate safety claims for autonomous driving capabilities.
What You Bring
  • Five or more years of relevant technical experience, including at least three years focused on testing autonomous vehicles or complex robotic systems.
  • Hands on software development expertise with proficiency in Python or C plus plus, particularly for automation and tooling.
  • Experience building or managing large scale simulation environments or automated testing pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of autonomy architectures and how sensing, perception, prediction, and planning systems interact.
  • Ability to work cross functionally, communicate complex ideas clearly, and guide partner teams through technical execution.
Preferred Experience
  • Background in behavior verification, large scale simulation, or fault detection and response testing for Level 2 or higher autonomous systems.
  • Experience designing and implementing structured triage and prioritization frameworks.
  • Familiarity with linking validation outputs to formal safety case documentation.
  • Track record of building scalable validation tooling and workflows for technically complex programs.
Why This Role Matters

Autonomous vehicles can only operate without a human driver when their behavior has been rigorously validated across countless scenarios. The systems you design will shape how autonomy is tested, trusted, and approved for deployment. If you are motivated by building the infrastructure that proves intelligent machines can act safely in the real world, this role offers the opportunity to define that foundation at scale.
