We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our team. The goal of an Electrical Engineer at Wisk is to design safe and reliable high power and control electronics for the aircraft’s propulsion system. You will be part of the Motor Controller team in the Powertrain IPT (integrated product team).

This is a hybrid work opportunity. At Wisk, this means working onsite at our Mountain View office 4 days per week with flexibility for the remainder of the days.

What You Will Do
  • Support design and development of low-voltage and high-voltage circuits within a high voltage inverter as part of the Propulsion IPT organization and the Motor Controller Hardware Team.
  • Test electronics hardware, electric motor testing on a dyno, propeller test stand, and also on an aircraft.
  • Participate in all aspects of product lifecycle development including design support, multi‑functional team coordination, deployment of design into product lifecycle management (PLM) software, design verification testing, standardized documentation, requirements verification, and troubleshooting of issues during experimentation.
  • Coordinate regularly with teams outside of the Motor Controller Team (mechanical, thermal, flight bus, systems, safety) and design to requirements as needed to meet goals of other IPTs.
  • Help conceptualize designs that optimize the weight and power density of the propulsion unit.
Requirements
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, or comparable degree with strong academic background and coursework/projects in embedded systems, electronics, and electric vehicle design.
  • 2 years of experience with a BS degree is required.
  • Proficiency in CAD and simulation software for electrical design (Altium, LTSpice, Mathworks, Simulink, PLECS, etc).
  • Experience with programming environments that support electronic design (MATLAB, Python, C, C++).
  • Experience simulating, designing, and building electronic circuits.
  • Hands‑on experience with test equipment and soldering.
  • Good grasp of analog and digital hardware development and validation techniques.
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware issues during the testing phase of integrated designs.
  • Experience with 10 kW+ AC → DC, DC → DC or DC → AC power electronic systems.
  • Familiarity with motors and motor control algorithms.
  • Experience writing and executing test procedures for design validation and qualification.
  • Proficiency in hardware failure investigations, design trade‑off analysis, and technical procedure documentation.
  • Ability to write GUIs in Python or LabVIEW.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Competitive base salary, annual bonus, long‑term incentive, 401(k) with company matching, health benefits and more.
  • Work‑life balance: 9 off‑Friday days for full‑time employees, flexible vacation time, 11 company holidays.
  • Additional perks: free catered lunches, flight lessons, wellness allowances, snacks, drinks, employee referral bonus, charitable giving match, patent bonus program, and more.
