Waldorf School of the Peninsula
(Preschool - Grade 12) is celebrating it's 41st year of bringing Waldorf education to Northern California. Our school has two beautiful campuses:
Preschool through grade 5 in Los Altos and a few miles away in Mountain View are grades 6-12. Our school is a full member of and accredited by the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America and fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. WSP is dedicated to hiring dedicated and highly capable faculty and administration. We invest in our learning and growth to best serve the needs of our students, teachers, community, and each other.

Waldorf School of the Peninsula is seeking a Seasonal Part-Time Tennis Coach for Middle and High School students. We are looking for a coach who values thoughtful movement, skill development, and guiding young people through sport with care, clarity, and enthusiasm.

Our athletics program supports the whole child — fostering confidence, responsibility, cooperation, and joy in movement. Middle School and High School students practice together in a mixed-age environment.

Schedule
  • Practices and games usually: 3:30–5:00 PM
  • 2 practices per week
  • Season:
    March–May
  • Occasional early departures for matches
Responsibilities
  • Lead purposeful, developmentally appropriate tennis practices
  • Teach sound technique, strategy, and sportsmanship
  • Create a positive, supportive, and respectful team culture
  • Support students with varying experience levels
  • Manage basic team organization (rosters, uniforms, lineups, scorekeeping)
  • Communicate clearly with families and the Athletic Department
  • Attend required coaches’ meetings
  • Drive the team van as needed (requires valid driving license)
Qualifications
  • Tennis coaching and/or playing experience preferred
  • Experience working with adolescents in a school setting
  • Safety-minded; CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Organized, reliable, and communicative
Compensation
  • $35 per hour for coaching hours
  • 26 additional paid non-coaching hours (planning, meetings, and administrative responsibilities)
Requirements
  • DOJ & FBI Live Scan fingerprinting prior to start
  • TB Assessment
