The Role

We are seeking a talented Staff Product Designer who is passionate about solving big problems and creating exceptional designs to help transform our 3P marketplace and E2E integrations experiences. On the Shared X team, you will deliver beautiful experiences that enable small to mid-sized businesses to get the most out of the Quick Books ecosystem via Better Together and Done for you experiences—saving them time, increasing their profitability, ultimately inspiring confidence.

You will design world-class experiences that enable seamless 3P discovery and integrations in Quick Books; empowering customers to more efficiently run their business all in one place. You will work closely with a team of talented designers and diverse stakeholders; and have top notch systems-thinking, interaction, and visual chops, with expertise in data-driven design to help shape how we transform our 3P experiences and the surfaces they interplay with.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of multiple medium-to-large scale projects with high proficiency; raising the bar for design across the team and broader organization.
• Create high-fidelity prototypes and design specifications that effectively communicate design intent and compelling vision.
• Participates in design planning and visioning. Speaks to the role that their craft plays in a design. Understands the relationship between visual presentation and comprehension.
• Explore and implement innovative design solutions that leverage emerging patterns and AI.
• Models a platform mindset and looks at work in terms of an entire suite of products or experiences; thinks critically about ways to experiment, stretch, and meaningfully diverge from the system to learn and ultimately improve the system and its outcomes.
• Leverages industry knowledge and strategic insights to guide and support work. Presents work with polish and confidence. Leads meetings effectively, and represents their craft in various situations.

• Ability to convey holistic ideas and concepts through storyboarding, wire framing, and prototyping.
• Articulate design concepts and rationale through compelling presentations and narratives.
• Influence and inspire cross-functional teams and leadership through effective storytelling.
• Facilitate design artifacts, shares, workshops and critiques to drive alignment across leadership as well as both design and product teams.

• Mentors and uplevels the craft of others including senior and junior designers on the team.
• Coaches others on interpersonal and presentation skills. Implements and defines team processes such as critiques and offsites.
• Establish yourself as a thought leader within the design community, both internally and externally.
• Proactively suggests and drives activities that bring the team together. Participates in hiring activities such as interviewing and sourcing.

• 8+ years of experience in product design, preferably in large-scale products.
• A dazzling online portfolio that demonstrates strong user-centered design principles and mastery of craft (Interaction, Visual, Motion).
• Proven track record of leading and delivering impactful design solutions across large and complex products and platforms.
