Our Legal team is an important go-to partner within Egnyte for various departments involving a range of subjects, i.e. including facilitating the closure and subsequent adjustments to sales deals, building appropriate organizational processes and procedures, securing procurement deal terms, analyzing and problem‑solving for privacy and data security concerns, IP matters, general risk management, etc.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
  • In this position, you will primarily assist sales and procurement efforts with front‑line contracts construction and negotiation. As part of the sales motion, you will work closely with Egnyte's deal operations team via Egnyte's CRM tool in pushing sales deals through approvals to closure. You must be a self‑starter, with an ability to triage and isolate key contractual issues, the skill to communicate complex ideas to senior business leaders, and a desire to make a meaningful impact on a dynamic, high‑growth technology company.
  • A successful candidate will be confident and assertive, providing a strong voice on behalf of risk management, as well as contract standards & simplicity, and will have the ability to lead cross‑functional projects and tasks in a challenging, fast‑paced, results‑oriented environment. You will also provide support for IP, HR, litigation, data privacy, and risk management and internal process enhancement projects.
  • You will report to the VP, Legal, but also work in a collaborative environment with other members of the legal team.
  • Little travel is expected for this position, but you will be working in‑office a majority of the work week is required.
YOUR

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • At least 3-6 years of directly applicable commercial contracts experience
  • Knowledge of SaaS and subscription‑based revenue models strongly preferred (bonus for having large law firm or in‑house experience negotiating SaaS commercial agreements)
  • Preferred working knowledge in key SaaS risk areas like data privacy (ex. GDPR compliance) and key SaaS contract provisions (ex. IP infringement indemnification, limitation of liability, warranties, data privacy, and security)
  • Inquisitive and proactive, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ownership mentality and demonstrated ability to independently drive projects and tasks to completion, with high attention to detail
  • CA Bar license required
COMPENSATION:

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across multiple U.S. geographic locations, and pay varies based on defined markets. The standard base pay range for this position across the U.S. is $140,000 - $190,000 annually. Pay varies by work location and may also be dependent on job‑related skills, knowledge, and/or experience. During the interview and/or hiring process, your recruiter can share more information about the compensation package specific to the role and job location.
