Lead Accountant, Banking

Overview

Lead Accountant - Payments and Banking Our client, a global technology company focused on financial solutions for consumers and small businesses, is seeking a Lead Accountant to support the scaling and operational accounting of their Payments and Banking business.

Mountain View, CA. This position is hybrid, with on-site requirements 3 days per week.

This role offers the opportunity to help build next-generation platforms and support international expansion.

• Lead accounting projects end-to-end, including translating technical literature and company policy into actionable requirements.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to identify scope, requirements, and testing for new initiatives.
• Anticipate risks and proactively manage issues to ensure timely resolution.
• Research and document technical accounting positions and communicate effectively to business partners.
• Prepare and maintain journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations in compliance with GAAP.
• Support external audits and contribute to process improvements over time.

• 7+ years of technical accounting experience, including accruals, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and ability to document technical conclusions.
• Experience in public accounting or large public company environment preferred.
• Proficiency with large accounting software packages (e.g., Oracle Financials).
• CPA preferred; BS/BA degree or equivalent experience.
