Agriculture Mechanic

Amalgamated Sugar Company – Mountain Home, Idaho

Amalgamated Sugar Company is seeking an experienced mechanic to perform maintenance and construction on sugarbeet pilers in the Twin Falls, Jerome, and Wendell areas. This position requires someone that is mechanically inclined and enjoys working outdoors. The role is generally outdoor work in the spring, summer and fall months and maintenance work in the shop during the winter months. This position will directly report to the Agricultural Maintenance Supervisor.

• Have basic mechanical skills, general understanding of power tools, basic welding and steel cutting knowledge, and ability to read measuring devices.
• Own and provide mechanics hand tools for daily use.
• Communicate both orally and in writing.
• Have the ability to routinely climb stairs and ladders.
• Work in extreme temperatures, both indoors and outdoors.
• Read and comprehend written instructions including safety procedures, safety signs, schedules, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), and manufacturing standards and procedures.
• Maintain good housekeeping and cleanliness standards.
• Be available and willing to work weekends and holidays.
• Perform other related duties as required.

• High school diploma.
• Minimum 18 years of age.
• Pass Math, Reading and Bennett Mechanical test at CSI.
• Have a Class A CDL and current DOT Medical Card or obtain one within 6 months of hire.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay:
From $26.73 per hour
