An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified and experienced Registered Nurse to join the District Nursing Service. The applicant must be a Registered Nurse, :: confident and competent in a wide range of clinical skills and demonstrate evidence of continuing professional development. There is a requirement for a flexible approach to work and an ability to travel between sites in a timely manner.
This post is fixed‑term/secondment for 12 months, from start date, to cover maternity leave.

Main duties of the jobThere are multiple demands in this exciting role due to the challenging nature of providing care for patients outside of the hospital environment. The post‑holder will however find themselves well supported by a very friendly and enthusiastic team of staff.
The post is based within Merthyr, although you could be asked to work anywhere within the Merthyr and Cynon region to meet the needs of the Service.
Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This does not mean essential; while the candidate does not need to have skills in Welsh, it will be considered an ); advantage when short‑listing and selecting candidates. This is not ‘fluency’, just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health.

The Community Staff Nurse is responsible for the delivery of prescribed nursing care to patients on a day‑to‑day basis. This includes the holistic assessment of patient care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of evidence‑based care. The post‑holder will be autonomous in their clinical practice while recognising their limitations and actively seeking advice as necessary.
Person Specification Registration- UK NMC Registration
- Qualified Nurse with post‑registration experience
- Experience working within community settings
- Experience working with patients with complex conditions
- Evidence of CPD
- Evidence of variety of skills
- Basic/advanced wound care skills and knowledge
- Management of a deteriorating patient
- Welsh language speaking & listening at Level 3 or above
