Shift, Compensation, and Differential24/7 facility differential:
Eligible for "Supplement Basic Shift Premium" (additional $1.00 per hour) for 24/7 Facilities. This shift premium does not apply to overtime hours and will expire on June 29, 2027.
This position has been posted within the assigned pay range through Step W. Step X has not been published as this is considered the longevity step, in alignment with state HR compensation rules.
On‑Call Definition"On‑call" refers to positions with intermittent, sporadic work that does not follow a fixed pattern. On‑call staff are utilized to support operational staffing needs. Shifts are scheduled on a rotational basis. The on‑call expectations for this role require availability for a minimum of three shifts per week, on two different shifts.
Hybrid/TeleworkThis position is not eligible for telework.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain healthcare records according to current policies and procedures.
- Administer medications and treatments for residents unable to do their own or monitor self‑pour medications of residents.
- Maintain incident log and provide learning experiences and feedback regarding incidents for direct care staff on unit.
- Encourage and empower residents and staff to meet residents' needs and requirements in a respectful and homelike environment.
- Maintain open communication and information‑sharing with staff.
- Assist in the presentation of training materials to staff.
- Perform nursing assessments of residents as necessitated by the condition of the resident, and on a quarterly basis for the completion of the Minimum Data Set.
- Assume responsibility for self‑development by awareness of new techniques and medications.
- Make rounds on a regular basis to ensure compliance with expectations of the unit.

- Currently holds a valid RN license from the State of Washington.
- Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing.
- One year of professional nursing experience.
- Must be able to use accurate methods and practices of nursing and restorative care; personal hygiene and sanitation methods, record keeping, report preparation, infection control procedures and resident rights.
- Must be able to assess, evaluate, and participate in the development of appropriate plans of care. Plan, implement, and document appropriate discharge planning for residents when appropriate. Perform selected nursing procedures.
- Must be proficient in the English language and be able to read, write and speak English.
- One year of experience as an RN.
- Must be able to provide a positive living environment for residents relating to meeting psychosocial needs; follow written and verbal directions; document and report observed changes in patient condition and behavior.
- Must be able to earn trust, respect and confidence of residents, coworkers and customers through consistent honesty, forthright and professionalism in all interactions. Serve as an effective and positive role model to staff.
- Long term care experience.
- Must be able to pass a DSHS BCCU Background Check every two (2) years in accordance with WDVA Policy 615.000 Background Checks.
- Must comply with annual Tuberculin Screening in accordance with DVA policy 670.000 Tuberculosis Testing.
- Requires medical evaluation, fit testing, training, and use of respiratory protection as required by the Washington Industrial Safety and Act standards.
- Remain current on CPR.
- Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs. and be capable of reaching a minimum of 36" using proper technique to stock shelves and access supplies. Employee must also be able to push or pull with sufficient strength and walk, sit, and bend in an unrestricted manner during the entire workday.
