Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Process Controls & Automation Technician to support automated manufacturing operations in a fast-paced production environment. This role is responsible for monitoring and optimizing equipment performance, maintaining process controls, supporting troubleshooting efforts, and collaborating cross-functionally to ensure production efficiency and product quality.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and audit automated equipment to ensure process parameters remain within established control limits.
- Support production by maintaining process integrity and addressing deviations in real time.
- Analyze operating and quality data to recommend process adjustments and improvements.
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and routine equipment servicing.
- Troubleshoot equipment and automation issues to minimize downtime.
- Document standard operating procedures and assist with updating work instructions.
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams to improve equipment uptime, cycle time, and overall efficiency.
- Participate in structured problem-solving and root cause analysis initiatives.
- Assist in small process improvement or equipment modification projects.
- Conduct controlled testing and data analysis to validate process improvements.
- Maintain spare parts inventory and support reorder planning.
- Ensure equipment operates safely and complies with established safety standards.
- Support training initiatives for team members as needed.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a technical or STEM-related field (or currently pursuing).
- Technical training in electronics, mechanical systems, or related field with at least 6 months of hands‑on experience.
- 2+ years in an automated or semi‑automated manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, pneumatics, hydraulics, VFDs, vision systems, and industrial electrical systems.
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work cross‑functionally in a team environment.
