Field Technician

, powered by Clean Harbors, in Mount Vernon, WA is looking for a Field Technician to work at various customer locations, and to join their safety conscious team! This team member is responsible for the successful execution of setting up and assisting with water treatment systems, pipeline hydrostatic testing and various other responsibilities. The Field Technician serves as representative of HPC-Industrial in creating a continuous working relationship with clients/customers.

Industrial setting – Refinery, Petro-Chemical, Utilities, Pulp and Paper Mills, etc.

EXPERIENCE WITH HYDROBLASTING EQUIPMENT A PLUS – but not necessary!

Work Schedule:

• 4/10s (6:30AM - 5:00PM) + Overtime (Days, Nights, and Weekends) and must be able to be on-call.
• Some state and out of state travel required

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times;
• Hands-on operation of manual and automated Hydroblasting equipment.
• Operation of special equipment, such as Ultra High-Pressure pumps;
• Operate equipment by energizing the pumping equipment and/or any specialized Hydro Blasting and/or Chemical cleaning equipment, vacuum trucks and cutting equipment being used on the job;
• May be required to examine surface cleaned to ensure conformance to company and customer expectations.
• Conduct routine and required maintenance on the unit and all peripherals, including industrial vacuuming equipment and the disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
• Perform routine maintenance on company equipment being used on the job;
• Additional duties as assigned.

Skills and Experience:

• Must be able to wear protective clothing or equipment. This includes, but is not limited to Nomex coveralls, a back belt, slicker suits, rubber boots, a fresh air breathing mask & escape pack & a hard hat.
• Must be able to work under extreme climate conditions (excessive high heat index of 95+ degrees Fahrenheit, 98% humidity & subzero weather conditions) relative to geographic location.
• Must be able to withstand exposure to dust, chemical & environmental, fumes (chemical & fluids), exhaust & highly pressurized fluids.
  
  Specific vocational preparation including classroom safety training, on-the-job training and essential experience gained on other jobs;
• Language proficiency: understand English at a level to comprehend safety training and respond to instructions in emergency situations;
• Must be knowledgeable in the operation of emergency equipment, such as fire extinguishers;

What does it take to work for HPC-Industrial?

• High school diploma or equivalent, required
• Valid driver’s license, preferred
• TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Card), required
• Knowledge of Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) waste codes, manifesting & Land Disposal Restrictions (LDR) (preferred).
• Confined space entry & 40 Hour OSHA Training, required
• Knowledge of RCRA requirements/regulations (preferred).
• Strong mechanical ability.
