Overview
Pathways Participant opportunity at Perdue Farms in Mt. Vernon, WA. Program start in June 2026. The Perdue Pathways Program develops talented individuals into future leaders in operations management through a 24-month schedule of hands-on training, departmental rotations, and leadership development. The role is aimed at preparing participants for supervisory responsibilities upon program completion.
Base pay range: $75,000.00/yr - $82,000.00/yr.
Responsibilities- Acquire knowledge of administrative functions, manpower reports, disciplinary procedures, budgets, and production processes; contribute ideas for continuous improvement.
- Understand and apply team processes: establish common goals, define roles, encourage shared accountability, implement effective procedures, coach and communicate, recognize team accomplishments.
- Implement policies of the Quality Improvement Process with the team/department.
- Monitor team performance, track results, and present data at briefings and meetings.
- Demonstrate strong communication, integrity, and Perdue values; develop self-awareness and leadership potential.
- Rotate through multiple functions in fresh or cook plants and related departments (e.g., Hatchery, Feed Mill, Live Production, Shipping, etc.).
- Complete projects focused on cost-reduction or improved performance.
- Attend learning events and e-learning activities; participate in hands-on training and on-the-job opportunities.
- Completed Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university within 24 months of the Pathways program starting. Program starts in June 2026 and accepts graduates from May 2026, December 2025, May 2025, December 2024, and May 2024.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Engineering, Production Management, Business or related fields;
Animal Science, Poultry Science, Agriculture also considered. - Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to motivate in a team environment.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Willing to work a rotation of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts.
- GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment; capable of working in a team or independently.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work 8+ hours in a stationary position; travel on wet, moist, dry, or greasy floors with possible ladders or stairs.
- Exposure to temperatures ranging from
-40°F to 75°F with varying humidity; noise exposure up to 110 dB; lighting 50–100 foot candles. - Physical tasks include bending, twisting, lifting up to 50 lbs, reaching, and varying body positions depending on maintenance tasks; exposure to chemicals in a poultry processing plant; use of required safety equipment.
