Overview
The Mount Vernon Inn Restaurant is seeking professional Dishwashers to work in a high-volume commercial kitchen environment. Part-Time position; requires flexibility with scheduling.
Compensation: $15.00/hour
Expected
Hours:
up to 30 hours/week
- Wash all kitchenware (dishes, cutlery, glasses, food storage containers, etc.)
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Put away all dishes and kitchenware in their appropriate places
- Removal of trash and recycling
- Floor cleaning
- Light preparation
- Perform other kitchen duties as assigned
- Work efficiently and expediently
- Previous restaurant or kitchen cleanliness experience preferred
- Ability to follow instructions
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to stand for long periods
- Must be able to go up and down stairs in our multi-level kitchen
- Ability to work weekends, all holidays, mornings, and nights
This position is based in a commercial kitchen environment, often hot, humid, and fast-paced. Exposure to cooking equipment, cleaning chemicals, and sharp instruments is routine. Teamwork is essential in this high-energy setting.
Physical RequirementsMust be able to stand for long periods, bend, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds. Must be able to go up and down stairs in our multi-level kitchen. Tasks involve repetitive motion and use of hands to handle food, tools, or controls. The role requires stamina, manual dexterity, and awareness of food safety standards.
