About the Role
United Trades of America is seeking skilled Pipe fitters with welding experience to join our team. We are hiring 2 Journeyman Fitters
, 2 Apprentices
, and 1 Foreman to work on steel erection, pipe fitting, and conveyor system installations in Mount Vernon, IL starting January 7th. This position requires a strong understanding of mechanical assembly, welding techniques, and structural systems.
The exciting aspect of this project is that all components are pre-labeled
, making the work highly organized and efficient-similar to assembling a large-scale jigsaw puzzle. We need individuals with broad mechanical assembly knowledge and proven experience in welding and pipe fitting.
- Assemble, fit, and install pipe systems
, steel structures, and conveyor systems according to blueprints and specifications. - Perform welding tasks as required to ensure secure, precise installations.
- Supervise and lead team members (Foreman role), ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality work.
- Interpret labeled components to streamline assembly and project progress.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and worksite cleanliness to ensure a safe environment.
- Collaborate with the project team to meet deadlines and resolve issues as needed.
- Proven pipe fitting experience with knowledge of mechanical assembly and structural systems.
- Welding experience required (Journeyman level).
- Previous experience with steel erection and conveyor systems is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and labeled components.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to tasks.
- Leadership experience for Foreman role, with the ability to manage and mentor a team.
- Commitment to safety protocols and quality workmanship.
- Pay Range
: $28 - $35/hour depending on experience. - Per Diem
