Job Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position in Washington, DC, requiring a DC RN license and expertise with Cerner and NIHSS. Responsibilities Work in a hospital medical/surgical telemetry unit Night shift position with three 12-hour shifts per week Patient population includes adults requiring med/surg and telemetry care Department 6204 assignment Cerner is the electronic medical record system used and prior experience is required Provide comprehensive assessment and nursing care to adult med/surg and telemetry patients Perform both initial and ongoing patient assessments with proper documentation Position requires efficient, compassionate patient care delivery, interpreting patient needs, and coordinating with interdisciplinary team members Two manager or supervisor references from the last 12 months are preferred, with at least one from the most recent employer COVID and Flu vaccination documentation may be required Dress code and orientation details will be provided upon assignment Holiday coverage may be expected as part of the rotation Requirements Active DC RN license is required at the time of consideration Minimum of 2 years of recent Med/Surg Tele experience in a US hospital Current BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA are required NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required CPI certification is required Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is highly desired
