Title: Transportation Engineer I – Design

Baltimore City, Hanover, or SHA District Offices statewide.

Open recruitment. State Highway Administration (SHA) is recruiting for the Transportation Engineer I – Design Track.

• Meeting project goals
• Developing alternatives
• Attending public meetings
• Evaluating design criteria against project constraints
• Performing constructability reviews
• Reviewing and designing roadway plans
• Performing construction inspection for proposed roadway improvement projects
• Providing traffic/travel demand information
• Conducting or reviewing traffic engineering analysis

• Education: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or agricultural engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Experience: None required.
• Note: Persons currently registered as Professional Engineers in Maryland, or comparable states, are considered to have met the education requirements.

• Foreign education evaluation (if degree earned from foreign university)
• Verification that foreign degree evaluation was submitted within 3 days of application
