Systems Engineer, Operations Manager
Overview
Intellisense Systems, Inc. is a privately held company with a proven track record of developing and deploying innovative products that operate in extreme environments. We design, develop, and manufacture advanced products for airborne, ground, maritime, and emerging market applications in the aerospace, defense, and commercial markets. We are seeking a Director, Business Development who will report to the Corporate Vice President, Business Development and be responsible for all aspects of the business development/capture lifecycle, from opportunity creation through award, including customer relationship, opportunity identification, proposal generation and overall customer satisfaction.
The successful candidate will drive business growth across the Corporation, focusing on a military service branch and associated Tier 1 system integrators, with a proven track record of managing technically complex programs and engineering tasks. The candidate must quickly assume leadership responsibility for capturing large military programs and guiding them to program execution.
What You’ll Bring- A minimum of an Engineering bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or similar with 7+ years' experience in engineering
- 5+ years’ experience in Business Development with demonstrated results; program management experience for avionics programs/systems
- Practical understanding of technology transitioning, product/market development, and marketing/product planning for US military applications
- Knowledge of conducting and directing competitive product analysis using market research techniques and a solid technical understanding of service/agency needs and requirements
- Superior proposal development/writing and basic contracting/negotiation skills
- Strong leadership, excellent communication (presentation, written, and verbal), and relationship-building skills
- Relevant experience in Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) a plus
- Business degree is a plus
- U.S. Citizenship is required. Must be willing and able to obtain a Security Clearance or have active Secret Security Clearance
- Identification and capture of new business including Small Business Innovation Research transition with focus on year over year revenue growth
- Participate in identifying and processing potential business opportunities aligned with Intellisense growth strategy
- Support strategic, long-range planning, market analysis and forecast data for DoD sector; demonstrate history of identifying and capturing new military and defense opportunities including SBIR
- Lead capture and proposal team activities with focus on customer requirements, budget, competitive intelligence and price-to-win analyses
- Conduct customer engagements and call planning to establish trust with senior leaders of assigned military services and primes
- Identify strategic alliances, teammates and partners for key pursuit opportunities
- Participate in relevant trade shows, industry days and seminars to stay abreast of customer strategies, goals and objectives
- Lead capture and proposal writing activities focusing on customer requirements, program management planning and budget, competitive intelligence and price-to-win analyses
- Identify and pursue opportunities for Foreign Military Sales or DCS of existing products in compliance with ITAR and US export restrictions
- Willingness to travel up to 50%

$150,000-$215,000 + quarterly bonus. Base salary will vary based on skills, qualifications, and experience.
