About the Internship
The Marketing Internship provides hands‑on experience in B2B marketing within the agriculture and ingredient distribution industry, with a focus on market analysis, data research, creative content development, and strategic insights that support business decisions.
This internship marketing role is a newly created position, designed for someone eager to contribute fresh ideas and help shape how marketing integrates with our sales team. Interns will work closely with the Marketing Associate as their partner throughout the summer, while also collaborating with our Commodity Specialists and Sales team to monitor market trends, create marketing materials, and support customer outreach campaigns.
It is an excellent opportunity for students interested in marketing, communications, and brand development to gain hands‑on experience in B2B marketing within the agriculture and ingredient distribution industry.
What You Will Gain:
- Hands‑on exposure to B2B marketing in the agriculture and ingredient distribution industry, including social media content creation, campaign design, and promotional material development.
- Experience using , a CRM and project management platform, to build and manage email campaigns, track projects, and collaborate across sales and marketing.
- The opportunity to partner closely with the Marketing Associate on brochures, e‑packets, and other sales tools, gaining practical skills in content design and marketing communication.
- First‑hand experience supporting trade shows and customer events, including setup, photography, and live marketing support.
- Practical knowledge of how market insights and competitor research connect directly to business decisions and customer engagement.
- The chance to build a portfolio of marketing activities you’ve created and potentially pitch your own smaller marketing campaign at the end of the program.
- Competitive pay at $20/hour and full‑time summer experience.
- Create social media content for CERCO Group subsidiaries, including Cereal Byproducts, CERCO Ingredients, and Highland Milling.
- Use to design and manage customer email campaigns, while learning and contributing to the development of this new CRM platform shared by sales and marketing.
- Work alongside the Marketing Associate to create brochures, e‑packets, and other promotional items for salespeople, trade shows, and customer visits.
- Attend 1–3 trade shows (local and/or requiring travel) to support sales teams with setup, capture event photos, and assist in onsite marketing activities.
- Collaborate across departments to understand how marketing intelligence connects to sales and logistics.
- Track competitor activities and provide insights on industry developments and emerging opportunities.
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong interest in creating social media content, graphics, and marketing design.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint); exposure to Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, or data visualization tools is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- High energy, self‑motivated, and eager to learn in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to travel within the US, if necessary.
