Payroll Specialist

$45,000–$50,000 + annual performance bonus
Our client, Wilkin Insulation, is a third-generation, family-owned commercial insulation contractor serving the Chicagoland market since 1940. With approximately $15M in annual revenue and 50–70 employees, the company has built a reputation for quality workmanship, long-term customer relationships, and exceptional employee tenure.

• Run weekly payroll for approximately 70 employees (union and non-union)
• Process contracting and certified payroll (experience is a plus)
• Maintain accurate employee files and payroll records
• Assist with light data entry and employee documentation upkeep
• Support light billing and Accounts Payable tasks as needed
• Ensure payroll compliance and accuracy in a construction environment

• 2–5 years of payroll experience, preferably in a construction environment
• No degree required
• Union payroll experience is a plus (not required)
• Certified payroll and contracting exposure a strong plus
• Comfortable operating independently in a lean office environment
• Strong attention to detail with solid analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Hands‑on, “roll up your sleeves” mindset
• Strong initiative, accountability, and follow‑through
• Clear and professional communication skills
