Data Center Technician (L2, L3, L4 Roles Available)
Pay Rate up to $49.50/hr. 12‑hour shifts A/B side days & nights available.
About the RoleWe are seeking experienced Data Center Technicians across multiple levels (L2, L3, and L4) to support large‑scale data center operations. These positions focus heavily on GPU deployment, break‑fix repairs, server/network troubleshooting, and rack infrastructure work. Ideal candidates excel in fast‑paced environments and have hands‑on experience with complex hardware deployments.
Shift SchedulesA Side – Days:
Sunday, Monday, Tuesday & every other Wednesday 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM. A Side – Nights: same days 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM.
B Side – Days:
Thursday, Friday, Saturday & every other Wednesday 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM. B Side – Nights: same days 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM.
- Perform break‑fix tasks on GPUs, servers, network hardware, and structured cabling.
- Deploy and configure GPUs within servers.
- Rack, stack, bay, level, ground, and land fully populated GPU/network racks.
- Troubleshoot and isolate hardware issues across multiple server platforms.
- Install, label, and test copper and fiber infrastructure.
- Scope and clean fiber connectors (SC, LC, MPO).
- Handle and replace optical modules (SFP/QSFP).
- Assist network teams with cabling, routing, optics, and hardware adjustments.
- Configure server IPs and default access credentials.
- Support firmware updates, part replacement, and equipment audits.
- Manage ITSM tickets and maintain accurate documentation with photos and tracking tools.
- Travel as required.
- 3‑10+ years of relevant data center experience.
- Experience landing fully populated GPU or network racks.
- Strong knowledge of Ethernet, copper, fiber (SM/MM/MPO), routing, and cable dressing.
- Experience with racking/stacking, structured cabling, and fiber/copper patching.
- Ability to work with DC power systems.
- Strong technical documentation and communication skills.
- Experience working in enterprise‑scale data center environments.
- Familiarity with telecom engineering designs for large data centers.
- Willingness to travel.
- L2 Technician:
Foundational‑level DC experience with break‑fix and deployment. - L3 Technician: 3+ years DC experience.
- L4 Technician: 5+ years dedicated DC experience.
- Data center deployment & break/fix.
- GPU installation & troubleshooting.
- Rack installation, hardware deployment, structured cabling.
- Fiber optic handling (SM/MM/MPO).
- Cat5/Cat6 cabling best practices.
This is a contract position based out of Mount Pleasant, WI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $33.00 – $49.50/hr.
